About

I love the outdoors and am inspired by the beauty in nature. I have been hiking and exploring since the age of ten when my family moved to a home near thousands of acres of woodlands in Connecticut. At age 14, I went on my first backpacking trip with a buddy for several days in Vermont. In my junior year of high school, I wrote a term paper on “Leave No Trace Camping.”

Upon leaving high school, I moved to California. I never stopped enjoying and making time for the outdoors. For many years I worked as an elementary teacher. One of my favorite parts of that experience was to take kids outdoors.  For several years, in conjunction with Adventure 16, I led an adventure club for 5th and 6th grade students.

I consider the rocky, open vistas of the Sierra Mountains my backyard. With more time to travel I have now been exploring new places near and far.
