Capturing Moments: Best Photos from 2025

Welcome to my 2025 collection. This past year taught me that photography isn’t always about the number of miles traveled, but the depth of the moments found. From the silent, sun-drenched dunes of Death Valley to the unexpected first snows of the Eastern Sierra, these images represent some of my favorite memories from a year of exploration. I invite you to wander through these landscapes and see the world as I saw itβ€”one frame at a time.

Desert Dawn | Death Valley National Park – January 8, 2025
I’m honored to share that “Desert Dawn” took home 1st Place in the Timeless category at the San Diego Fair this year. πŸ†
Silverwood | Eagle Rock Trail, San Diego County – January 18, 2025
This was my first time on this trail. The sky was a perfect “bluebird” blue, so I focused instead on this intimate scene of manzanita roots interwoven with rock.
Forgotten Path | Palomar Mountain State Park – January 27, 2025
While exploring this trail, I came across this opening in the woods that hinted at a path long abandoned.,
Edge of the Sea | Carlsbad, California – January 28, 2025
This is a favorite stretch of shoreline only a few miles from my home.
Make a Wish | Hot Creek, Eastern Sierra – August 21, 2025
I came here with a few friends to capture the Milky Way rising over the creek and distant mountains. During the blue hour, this falling star surprised me by appearing right in my shot.
Mountain Fortress | Lone Pine – August 24, 2025
A friend told me about this location, suggesting I visit sometime. Not expecting much that day, I suggested we drive there just so I would know the route for the future. What a surprise it was to find these flower-filled fields set against the stunning backdrop of the Sierra Mountains!
Train Heist | Jacumba, San Diego County – September 19, 2025
The intent of this trip was to capture the Milky Way behind the abandoned train cars, but I found I liked this blue hour shot best.
Mount Morrison | Eastern Sierra – October 15, 2025
It was the interplay of long shadows and fresh snow that first caught my eye. I love how the glacial valley curves around the mountain, anchored by a ‘Sierra Wave’β€”a massive wave of air that sculpts the clouds into these smooth, hovering shapes.
Aspen Trail | Laurel Creek, Eastern Sierra – October 16, 2025
It is remarkable how these aspens wind their way up the mountain. The fresh snow provided a wonderful contrast to the vibrant orange leaves.
Autumn Alchemy | Conway Summit – October 16, 2025
Dappled light, fresh snow, and aspens in every stage of autumn transformationβ€”what more could I ask for?

  1. Dear Lawrence,I just want to thank you for including me is your sharing of your incredible photographic journey and also for just being there as secretary and sevadar. I have been very grateful for your help. These photos are so beautiful and make me long to be in nature. I am slowly healing but not sure what is next with regards to my current health predicament.Β I hope it all went well with the collecting of books from Kathleen’s house. I had to let it go. I’m sorry. Anyway, thanks for your help and for providing these amazing pictures of His creation.Β Happy New year and warmest Radha Soami πŸ™Β TeresaΒ
