A few weeks ago, in mid April, I did a short trip to the canyon deserts of the southwest along the border between northern Arizona and southern Utah. Our first stop was a very short slot canyon known as Peekaboo or Red Canyon Slot. The slot canyon itself is very short, about 1/4 to 1/2 mile long before you reach a dead end at a dry waterfall. We spent several hours exploring the nuances of the light and shapes of the canyon.
