This was my 3rd season visiting the redwood forests along the northern California coast.
To portray the scale of these giants and give a sense of what it is like to walk among them, I choose to include people and the trail in many of my photos. Sometimes I stepped into the frame myself. Other times, I used a companion or someone that was walking by. This is the first of two posts from this collection. The next will focus on fallen giants.

Nice captures, makes me want to go there . . . again!

These are absolutely gorgeous! My father, who first fisited Yosemite in the late 20s at age 3 or 4, would have adored the photos! Thank you for your eye and heart in sharing these views!

Thank you so much for sending these awesome photos. I lived amongst the redwoods for 23 years and miss them dearly. These brought tears to my eyes and I could almost smell the moist earth there. 🙏

WOW … these are gorgeous images! The foggy atmosphere adds so much. I always feel like I am in a cathedral when I walk in a forest of tall trees. Here the tallest are Ponderosa Pines. I must get to the Redwoods sometime soon.
